Adult Student Programs ASPIRE
North Carolina Wesleyan College’s Adult Student Programs: Innovative, Respected, & Engaging (ASPIRE) are nonresidential baccalaureate degree programs designed to meet the educational needs of adult learners. ASPIRE allows mature women and men to tailor their degree work to meet personal, career, and life goals. Learners work at their own pace with the option of maintaining full-time or part-time course loads. Because mature adults are highly motivated and capable of self-directed learning, ASPIRE learners can take advantage of 5-week, 8-week, hybrid, and online classes, as well as opportunities for earning credit through alternative options such as CLEP and DSST testing.
Whether you want to be more marketable in your organization, career, or life in general get the competitive advantage with NC Wesleyan’s ASPIRE programs. These adult student programs are innovative, well respected, and engaging.
Innovative….North Carolina Wesleyan College strives to continuously review its curriculum, course offerings, program formats and use of technology to maintain an innovative approach to adult higher education. We have learning communities in Rocky Mount, the Triangle, Goldsboro and at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington to meet the needs of adult students.
Respected…. North Carolina Wesleyan College was the adult education pioneer in our three markets starting degree programs for adults in the mid-1970’s. NCWC was also recently ranked in the top 50 by US News and World Report among small, regional colleges in the South and ranked No. 3 in diversity in 2010. NCWC was reaffirmed by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools after a year long, thorough, comprehensive review by our peers and the accrediting organization and we are affiliated with and supported financially by the highly respected United Methodist Church.
Engaging….Our faculty and staff are engaged in the success of our students. We provide personal one-on-one service to our students and our faculty-to-student ratio is normally 14:1. We want our adult students to have an enriching and rewarding educational experience with North Carolina Wesleyan College. We expect our graduates to also be engaged in their learning and to allow that learning to make an impact on the organizations they work for.
